Information on this site
The roofing guidance published here is general information about common roof problems and how they are usually resolved. It is not a substitute for an inspection of your own roof. Every roof differs in construction, age and exposure, and the right repair can only be confirmed after we have looked at it. Do not rely on this website alone when deciding whether a roof is safe.
Quotations
- Quotations and roof assessments are free and carry no obligation.
- A quotation covers the work described in it. Where a roof is opened up and hidden defects are found — decayed timber, failed decking, missing underlay — we stop, tell you what we have found, show you the evidence and agree any additional cost before continuing.
- Prices assume safe access. Where scaffolding, a tower or traffic management is needed this is identified in the quotation.
- Quotations are valid for the period stated on them. Material prices can move and a re-quote may be needed after that date.
Carrying out the work
Roofing is weather-dependent. Start dates are agreed in good faith and may move where high winds, rain or ice make work unsafe. We will tell you as early as we can when that happens and reschedule at the first safe opportunity.
Waste from the work is removed and disposed of by us unless the quotation says otherwise.
Payment and guarantees
Once supplied, these terms will set out when payment is due, whether a deposit is taken on larger jobs, and the length and scope of the workmanship guarantee given on completed work.
Cancellation rights for consumers
Where a contract for work is agreed in your home, consumers have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to begin urgent work within that period, you may be liable for the value of the work carried out before you cancel. Emergency call-outs are treated as work you have asked us to begin immediately.
Complaints
If something is not right, contact us first using the details above. We will come back and look at it. Tell us as soon as you can so we can see the roof before further weather changes the evidence.
Liability and law
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
