How much does roof repair cost?
The short answer
There is no meaningful standard price, because the same described fault can be a half-hour job from a ladder or a full day behind scaffolding. Cost follows the defect, how the roof is reached safely, the materials involved and the pitch and height. A figure without a scope attached cannot be compared with anything.
What could this mean?
Access is usually the largest single variable on a small job. Two identical repairs on a bungalow and a three-storey terrace are not the same piece of work.
What this evidence cannot tell you
Prices quoted without an inspection are estimates against assumptions. They change when the assumptions turn out to be wrong.
What could affect the cost?
- Safe access: ladder, tower, cherry picker or full scaffold
- What has actually failed, and how much has to be disturbed to reach it
- Materials, and whether existing coverings can be reused
- Pitch, height and complexity of the roof around the repair
- Whether the work is emergency attendance or planned

What should you do next?
Ask for the scope and the access method in writing alongside the figure. That is what makes two quotations comparable.
