Can I use roof photographs when getting a second opinion?
The short answer
Yes, and it helps. This is about reusing images you already hold rather than commissioning a fresh inspection: sharing existing imagery means the second contractor is looking at the same evidence rather than forming a view from the pavement. It does not replace their own inspection, but it does make the comparison meaningful — particularly where the images show details nobody can see from the ground.
What this evidence cannot tell you
A second opinion formed only from someone else's photographs inherits their framing and their blind spots. Ask for an independent look as well.

- Drone Roof InspectionsA drone roof inspection surveys a roof using a camera-equipped UAV, producing high-resolution photographs and video of every slope, chimney, valley and gutter without scaffolding, ladders or anyone setting foot on the roof. It is faster, safer and cheaper than traditional access, and produces evidence you can keep.
- Roof RepairsA roof repair fixes a localised fault — slipped slates, cracked tiles, failed flashing, a leaking valley or a split flat-roof seam — without replacing the whole roof. Most Cumbrian domestic repairs are completed in a single visit once the true cause of the leak has been identified.
What should you do next?
Send the imagery in advance and ask the second contractor whether they reach the same conclusion from it, and what they would want to check themselves.
